The 2011 Pac 12 Championship Game is going to be a thriller so get your tickets before they are all gone

As the first year being hosted the Pac 12 Championship Game tickets are going to be some of the hottest in college football. There has been all sorts of anticipation for the Pacific Ten turning into the Pac 12, with the addition of the Utah Utes and the Colorado Buffaloes joining the conference. This is one of the most anticipated games in college football in a long time and if you can be there then get your tickets to see what will be a true spectacle. The inaugural Pac 12 Football Championship Game is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2011 with kickoff schedule for 6:20 MDT. Keep in mind the Pac 12 date is subject to change so keep an eye on the action.

One of the distinct characteristics of the Pac 12 game is that there isn’t a set location. The 2011 Pac 12 Game will be hosted at the home stadium of the team with the best conference record, at least for the next few years. With that in mind you might want to hold off on buying Pac 12 tickets until we get a better idea of who the best teams will be. Should the conference-record be equal, “other factors will be taking into account.” Also note that USC will not be eligible to host the Pac 12 Championship Game because it is being served with sanctions from the NCAA.

Former NFL executive Jim Steeg has been chosen as director of the Pac-12 Championship Game. Steeg has been credited with bringing the Super Bowl to the level it is now. “Each one has got a different set of circumstances, different things that make them tick,” Steeg said. “You kind of learn every step along the way. For me, it’s been great because you learn so many different ways to do things other than the standard way it’s done in the NFL.”

FOX will broadcast the first Pac 12 Football Championship Game. As part of the deal with Fox Sports Net (FSN) will showcase more Pac 12 games, including games from the new members, Colorado and Utah. “FOX has enjoyed a successful and mutually beneficial relationship with the Pac-10 for many years,” FOX Sports President Eric Shanks said. “It’s an honor to have the first-ever Pac-12 championship football game on FOX and available to the widest possible audience. We’re excited to take our relationship with the Pac-12 to an entirely new level.”

Pac 12 Divisions

One of the bigger questions as the Pac 10 morphed into the Pac 12 would be the conference divisions between North and South. Teams in the Pac 12′s North Division are Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, California, and Stanford. Teams in the South Division are Arizona, Arizona State, USC, UCLA and newcomers, Utah and Colorado. According to Pac 12 organizers, the division alignments were chosen with concerns for geography, competitive balance and to protect rivalries. The Pac 12 has said that all rivalries will be preserved. Pac 12 teams will play a nine-game regular season schedule, with teams playing each team in their division once, three cross-divisional games in addition to three out-of-conference games.
